Unit 2: Implementing a Change

  • Identify the steps of the change process.
  • Analyze a change situation.
  • Prepare a plan for change.
  • Implement a change.
  • Monitor the progress of a change.
  • Simulation Overview:  In this simulation, your Director of Marketing is being promoted and the Marketing Manager has been chosen to fill the vacant Director of Marketing position.  You are meeting with them and the Director of Human Resources to discuss the perceived effects the change will have on the department and its employees.

Unit 3: Monitoring a Change
Duration: 0.5 - 1 Hour(s)

  • Manage the tension caused by change.
  • Help employees avoid complacency.
  • Eliminate the causes of complacency.
  • Control a crisis.
  • Simulation Overview:  In this simulation, the Information Systems Department is implementing a new operating system.  You are meeting with the Director of Human Resources, the Director of Information Systems, and the Special Projects Coordinator to address their concerns about completing the transition.

Unit 4: Setting Strategic Goals

  • Understand the need for creative approaches to change.
  • Encourage creativity in your employees.
  • Develop commitment to change in your employees.
  • Communicate change effectively.
  • Control information in an organizational grapevine.
  • Simulation Overview:  In this simulation, you have recently implemented a team-based sales strategy.  Several employees are upset about being required to work on a team with access to only one product line.  You are meeting with the Director of Human Resources and the Director of Sales to discuss the situation and identify a way to get the employees to commit to the strategy.
