Medical Terminology
 As consumers of medical services we hear
medical terms in our doctor's office, read about health issues in the newspaper; and make daily decisions about our own health care and that of our families. Working in a
medical setting you will be exposed to and use these words even more everyday.
Terms such as arthritis, electrocardiogram, hepatitis, and anemia describe conditions and tests that are familiar. Other medical words are more complicated, but as you work through this course you will begin to
understand them even if you have never studied biology or science.
This course helps you learn the meaning of the words their component parts and the individual parts
of medical terms and the medical language. You will learn about the "root" of words, the "suffixes" and the all important "joining vowel".
This course includes instructor video lectures, instructor presentations, quizzes, tests, and textbook. Included with the textbook is a comprehensive medical terminology resource CD
